You can achieve this by doing a Repair Install of XP by following the directions here If you need to do a Repair/In Place install follow the directions here And you will need to reapply any Service Packs & Patches that have become available since your Install Disc was made. However if you perform a In Place/Repair Install of Windows to the Original Folder then you will be able to use this HDD with the Original M’Board with all of the originally working software but it will of course destroy your ability to use it with the MSI M’Board. Installing 2 different versions of Windows to the same Partition doesn’t work because of this. If the system isn’t told where to look of the necessary files to actually load the OS in the Windows Folder it is unable to load. If you want to Dual Boot like this you need to install the different copies of Windows to different Partitions not he Same Partition as you destroy the very basic files that Windows used to start the load process.
